TV mounting is finding the studs, fixing a bracket that will hold the weight, hanging the set level and tidying the cables so they do not run down the wall. It is an hour or two of work for somebody who does it every week, and the difference between a clean job and a cracked screen is almost entirely about how the bracket is anchored — which is why most people book it out rather than borrowing a drill.
Most TV mounting jobs run $80 to $200 for a single set, and the number moves with three things: the size of the television, what the wall is made of, and whether the cables are being hidden inside it. A 55-inch screen on a stud wall with the cables in a surface trunk is the cheap end. A 75-inch set over a brick fireplace with an in-wall power kit and a full-motion arm is the expensive one. Ask whether the bracket is included — some pros supply it, some expect you to have bought one, and it is the single most common surprise on the invoice.

Do I need to supply the wall bracket?
It depends on the pro, and it is worth asking before they arrive. Some include a standard fixed or tilting bracket in their price; others fit the one you bought. If you are buying it yourself, check the VESA pattern on the back of your TV and the weight rating on the bracket.
Can a TV be mounted on any wall?
Almost any, but the wall decides the method and the price. Stud walls are the straightforward case. Brick and concrete need masonry anchors, tile needs careful drilling, and plaster or lath needs toggles into something solid behind it. Say what your wall is made of when you book so the pro brings the right fixings.
Can the cables be hidden inside the wall?
Usually yes on a stud wall, using an in-wall rated cable kit — that is the tidiest finish and it adds an hour or so. On masonry, cables normally run in a slim painted trunk instead. Power in particular has rules: an ordinary power cord must not simply be buried in a wall, so a proper recessed outlet kit is used.
