About locksmith services on Task Masters
Locksmiths help with lockouts, damaged locks, lost keys and changes to who can access a property. Residential locks, vehicle keys, smart locks and safes can require different tools and experience, so describe the lock or vehicle when you call. For urgent visits, request the business name, estimated arrival time and likely charges before dispatch. The locksmith should verify your authorization to enter and explain the proposed work and price before opening, drilling or replacing a lock.

Frequently asked questions
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
Rekeying changes a compatible lock so old keys no longer work while keeping the existing hardware. Replacement may be appropriate if the lock is damaged, worn or does not provide the features you need. If you want one key for several doors, ask whether the cylinders are compatible.
Will a lockout require drilling the lock?
Not necessarily. The available options depend on the lock, its condition and why it will not open. Ask the locksmith to explain why drilling is needed and quote replacement hardware before proceeding. Do not assume a low advertised service call fee covers the complete job.
What proof of access should I have ready?
Ask what the locksmith accepts, such as identification with the address, a lease or vehicle ownership documents. If your documents are locked inside, explain that when booking so an appropriate verification process can be arranged. Tenants may also need to coordinate lock changes with their landlord.
