Should I rekey or replace after moving in?
If the locks are sound and reasonably modern, rekeying is cheaper and just as secure — it changes which key works without changing the hardware. Replace when the locks are old, worn, low-grade, or you want a different type such as a smart lock.
Can all my locks use one key?
Yes — that is keying alike, and a locksmith can do it across compatible cylinders on the same visit. It is much easier to arrange while they are already changing the locks than to retrofit later.
My key turns but the door will not close properly. Is that the lock?
